Strait lines and clean simple beauty are what makes this 1940 Chevrolet
Special Deluxe Coupe so appealing. It is easy to relate to.
Michael Smith has owned the Street Rod for 5 years. The
restoration/rebuilding process encompassed several months, the major
modifications being to the transmission, rear-end, wheels and tires.
This compact black beauty, with its’ fat white wall tires, has a 350 cu.
inch Chevy motor, 56 Chevy 3:55 posi rear-end, mid-size GM clip
front-end and dual exhaust system. Michael modified the automatic
transmission with an M-21 4-speed and added steel wheels with hub caps
and beauty rings.
Michael has been involved with both Street Rods and Hot Rods, forever.
He claims to have been born with “Rod Fever.” Michael shows his Rods at
local Cruise Nights and Rod Runs. |
