Jesse Ruocco

#39 Jr. Outlaw

“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” an old adage that easily applies to young twelve year old Jesse Ruocco. Jesse, son of well known modified racer Frank Ruocco, races the #39 in the Jr. Outlaw division at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Young Jesse won the 1st race of the 2007 season and had 2nd and 3rd place finishes in 2006. He looks up to his Dad, who, along with his Mom, supports the #39 are weekly racing.
Jesse has a unique pre-race strategy, says Jesse ”My strategy is to sit down and eat French fries.”

His car number is also unique. He added up all the birthday numbers in his family and got the #39.

Erik Pomasko
#471 4 cyl. Enduro

You can find the real grass roots racing in the Enduro Divisions at New Hampshire’s Monadnock Speedway. Eric Pomarko races his #471 4cyl Enduro at the “Mad Dog.”

It is both amazing and scary to see the large field of home-grown enduros barrel around the high banked quarter track. They spin and twirl, bump and weave but somehow maneuver their racecars around overheated cars, shredding tires and other racing debris shortcutting the corners to advance, one way or another, in the final count.

Pomasko races for the thrill, would like to win a race (best finish is 10th) and hopes to move to the mini stock division some time in the future. He emulates to #43 Cup driver, Bobby Labonte, whom he feels is an awesome driver.

Dennis Krupski
#66 SK Modified

To “qualify, stay out of trouble and finish as high as possible” are the goals for Dennis Krupski. That has not always proven to be possible as Krupski blew the motor in his Riverhead home track modified going into the final races of this season. Digging his SK out of storage, Krupski came to Thompson for some fun racing and competition in the royal blue #66.

A veteran racer, Krupski has numerous wins at Riverhead Raceway in the Blunder Blast, Chargers and Late Model Divisions. He loves racing and helping other drivers. A left hander, Krupski’s strategy prior to each race is “just relax”. His future may be in a touring division such as True Value.

Who is your hero? Dennis Krupski’s is Tom Baldwin, a true racer and good friend.
