Fred Astle Jr.
#48 Pro Stock

Fred Astle Jr. is humble when it comes to his racing experiences. The facts tell all and the facts are that Fred is a two-time Pro Stock Championship and the 5th all-time feature winner (with 45 wins) both facts acquired at Seekonk Speedway. An awesome racer, in 2006, Fred placed 4th in points at Thompson International Speedway from a field of 48.

A bricklayer from Fall River, MA, Fred is in the field, once again, at both Thompson and Seekonk for 2007. According to the facts, Fred is up to the challenge.

J. Scott Martel
#88 ISMA SuperModified

Every win is a memorable win to J. Scott Martel in his #88 ISMA Super. Scott boasts that his favorite 06 race experience was seeing his 10-year old daughter win her first Tiger Sprint race at Sugar Hill Speedway. As the saying goes, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Scott learned from his Dad and has passed that on to his own daughter. A seasoned driver, Martel received the Jim Shampine Memorial Award in 1995 .

Martel raced the #88 Budnick in 2006 as replacement driver when Randy Riskes sustained a wrist injury. He ran 14 races finishing thirteenth in points for the season. Although he did not win a single race, Martel came in the top 5 four times during the season.

Mike Luggelle
#77 NEMA Midget

“The Bender, Mender, Spender” (as he refers to himself) NEMA driver, Mike Luggelle, finishes most races he starts. At Thompson, in 2006, he started one race dead last and finished 4th, thus deserving the “Hard Charger Award.” A 12th points finish for the season was not too shabby in a roster of 47. From Hull, MA, Luggelle runs dirt too. From wings to mud, he does it all and does it well.
