Duane T. Provost
#88 - Dare Stock

New to Dare Stock racing at Stafford Motor Speedway, Duane T. Provost succeeded in winning one heat race in the 2006 race season. Though Duane started mid-season he was competitive in his #88 Dare Stock. With 1 top 5 finish and 2 top tens, Duane ended the 2006 season 14th in points.

His most memorable race was, a race for the win in competition with the #92 Steve Berardi, Duane finishing second.

The 2007 race season is sure to bring a victory lane finish for the #88.

Jeff Hartwell
#91 - Late Model

What brings a Stone Mason (by trade) to a racetrack?

For Jeff Hartwell, of Putnam CT, it was fast cars and previous motorcycle racing experiences. Jeff races the #91 Late Model at Thompson International Speedway.

His 2006 season was successful with many top ten and top five finishes and a spectacular 3rd in points finish (only 56 points out of 1st). In 2005, Jeff was awarded “Most Improved Late Model Driver” at Thompson. He continued to demonstrate his abilities in 2006 and has proven to be a challenge for every Late Model competitor at Thompson.

Henry Petrie
#4 - Strictly Stock

Watching and cheering-on the #4 Strictly Stock at New Hampshire’s Monadnock Speedway becomes addictive. Driver Henry Petrie is talented, but even more, he is competitive though aggressive, entertaining and love of the sport is written all over him.

Henry flits about the pits between his car and team and those of his competitors. The green, or is it yellow, maybe off-lime #4 is on the track at each opportunity, testing and adjusting and re-testing until race time. Henry and his team, have several top five’s and some victory lane experiences in the 2006 race season. They finished the season 4th in points. A very good season.

Though there are weekly challenges in racing, (a big challenge is getting sponsors) Henry specifically recalls a 2005 35-lap race when he came from the rear to challenge the accomplished driver, Dan Fredericks, and to win the race. Henry sets high goals for himself and the day will come when, he to, will be referred to as an accomplished racecar driver.
