Ken Barry

Featherlite Modified #20

Rookie driver, Ken Barry, is one of the “Young Guns” to follow on the Featherlite Modified Series. Quite the young man, Ken finished the 2004 racing season 9th in point standings, only 518 points behind veteran leader Tony Hirschman.

Though Ken did not race his #20 Modified racecar to a single win in the 2004 season, he had 19 starts with 2 top fives and 8 top tens, a record to be proud of.

Ken began his racing career in Karts. He was a 3-time Champion, before moving onto SK Modifieds where he was voted “Most Improved Driver”.

A Griswold, Connecticut resident, Ken has raced most of his 15 years in racing at Stafford Motor Speedway though his most challenging race was a Featherlite race at Nazareth when he took second place this past season. He will still, occasionally, jump behind the wheel of a Race of Champions car or a SK but for now his home is with the Modified Tour.

With the support of his team and main sponsor, Lombardi Inside Out/Rebuilders Automotive, Ken will be a mover in the 2005 season. A race car fabricator by trade, Ken enjoys radio control racing. That whole racing thing is in his blood.

Earl Paules

Race of Champions Modified #8

Racecar driver, Earl Paules likes longer lap races. Earl races the full Race of Champions Tour (ROC) in car #8. This Modified Division is open to 1983 through 2004 models of American-made steel bodied passenger car productions unless otherwise authorized. The tour schedules 12 races a season that vary from 75 to 200 laps each race at eight different tracks. Most races are 2 ˝ hours away from Earl’s hometown of Kunkleton, Pennsylvania.

Earl pulls from his 12 years of racing experience when competing on the ROC Tour. His experience spans from the Enduros, to Sportsman Division at Dorney Park, to Modifieds at Mahoning Valley and Middletown New York. His favorite track is Chemung Speedrome because it is a driver’s track and his most challenging race was a 200-lap ROC race at Oswego, because it was so long.

Working and racing is what life is all about for Earl Paules.
