Ken Bouchard

Featherlite Modified Series

Ken Bouchard, racecar driver and a man of many hats, has been in the industry “forever.” For the 2003 race season, he can found be on the Modified Tour racing car #55. He has raced on the Winston Cup Series and was 1988 Winston Cup Rookie of the Year. He and his brother Ronnie, are the only two brothers ever, to have both held that title. Ronnie won Rookie of the Year in 1981. Ken has also raced in the Busch South Series, SK Modifieds, Busch North and Craftman Truck Series.

Ken never found a track that he didn’t like to race on, though he finds Daytona and Talladega the most fun and challenging. With over 200 career victories, Ken is a driver to identify with. He was voted one of Nascar Modified’s 50 greatest drivers of All-Time This ever-postive driver did not just drop into the racecar industry, he grew up in it. His Dad owned racecars when he was a child. The driver was Pete Salvatore. When Ken’s brother Ronnie started driving, Ken worked on his car until he, himself, was old enough to race. He now races 2 to 3 times weekly and spends an additional 15 to 18 hours, weeknights, working on the car.

One of Ken Bouchard’s other hat is that of a teacher and opportunity giver. He owns and operates Drive To Victory Lane Racing School at Thompson International Speedway. What does Ken Bouchard consider one of his more challenging races? It was an open show 100 lap Modified race at Monadnock Speedway. His brother Ronnie was driving #3 for Lenny Bowler. Ken got a flat with twenty laps to go, yet he came back to win the race and beat his brother. He loves it all, the speed and the thrill, no matter whom it is against.

The hat Ken wears with greatest pleasure and pride is, his Father hat. Olivia, his 14-year old daughter is an avid horsewoman and his most important supporter. Ken enjoys watching his daughter ride in horse shows. He also enjoys an occasional game of golf for relaxation.
