Dave Dion

Busch North Series #29

Auto racing success is not specific to the “Young Guns.” Drivers like Busch North’s Dave Dion, in racecar #29, has run side-by-side to many of the young up and comers for some 39 seasons. At age 60, Dave is in the top 20 for points on the Busch North Series in the 2004 season. Dave has run the full Busch tour for 17 years with another 10 in Pro Stock and 6 years on the ACT Tour.

Curiosity is what peaked Dave’s interest in the sport of racing. He grew up in Hudson New
Hampshire and would watch the racecars go by his house to and from the track. At age 11 he too went to the track and was hooked for good.

His most challenging race was the Oxford 250. It was difficult to qualify, then once you did, there were the best drivers in the country to contend with. There were a huge amount of cars on the track and no passing flag. He recalls it well.

It is difficult for Dave to choose a favorite track, but does like to race at Thunder Road and
Seekonk a lot.

Does his record of 2 top 5’s and 4 top 10’s plus 3 Poles at Lee, Seekonk, and Holland in this 2004 season make him proud? Yes it does, as does the fan appreciation and support.

Bob Bradbury

NEMA Midget #57

Racing was Bob Bradbury’s boyhood dream. Bob races #57 with the North East Midget Association (NEMA). Not always a racecar driver, Bob was a Missionary Priest. He now uses his Midget RaceCar to further his missionary work.

During his three-year reign with NEMA, Bob has 2 top 10 finishes at Thompson Speedway. A Rhode Island resident, his favorite track is Seekonk. The one thing that was most difficult for Bob to overcome in racing, was corner speed. According to his record on the track, he has conquered the corners and is in the top 12 for points this 2004 season.
