Jim Peterson - Late Model #17

Monson, Mass native, Jim Peterson, races car #17 in the Late Model Division at both Stafford and Thompson Speedways. This 37-year-old racecar driver has earned himself 2 Championships in his 13 years of racing. He has also raced at Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire.

Says Jim” My entire first year of racing was a challenge because of set-ups and lack of experience.” He races for the excitement and competition. Besides the 25 hours each week he works on his racecar, Jim races at least once a week. A race day encompasses about 10 hours.

The entire team is what it takes for car#17 to win, place or even finish a race. Dave Hirsh is Crew Chief and Scott Hirsh, Bob Peterson, Larry McKinnay, Dick Duby, Dave Iso and Rob Puliafiro make up the crew.

Jim is a mechanic by profession. He enjoys fishing and basketball for pleasure. His family, wife Charlene, daughter Rosalee and son James, are his support team.
