Roy L. Seidell Jr.
Featherlite Modified Tour Car #27

Easthampton, Mass. native and full-time Air National Guardsman, Roy L. Seidell Jr. races the Featherlite Modified Tour Division on a limited schedule. Roy is a proud man with a reserved manner. With his wife Sherry by his side, Roy does what he does best, race great cars and protect our country. His racing career is for fun, excitement and the challenge. Being deployed overseas during the Iraq war was a commitment of greater proportion, which Roy attained dutifully.

Roy’s racing experience spans over a 26-year period. It began during his teen years in Go-Karts, moving to the Pro Stock Division at Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire where he was “Rookie of the Year” in 1990. Roy raced in the SK Modified Division at Riverside Park Speedway, winning numerous awards before moving to the Modified Tour where he races at Stafford and Thompson Speedways as well as the former Riverside Park Speedway.

Racing has many challenges. Roy’s most challenging race was at Thompson Speedway when the motor of his racecar exploded and the car burst into flames. Roy was slightly burned. He will occasionally look at the set of photos from that incident. They are reminders to him that though racing is fun, there is a risk factor involved.

Roy has a great crew. Shaun James, Bob Farrington, Brian and wife Sherry are always there for him. Together, they make the team. Roy does spend 5 to 20 additional hours weekly on the car. He does whatever it takes to race. The cost of racing is huge and Roy would like to be able to return to the old “Stock” days costs.

Roy is looking for sponsors for his Modified Tour car #27 to go along with his current National GuardSponsorship.  Notify him at spaceage53@AOL.com or by telephone at
