| Michael Bennett is a
driver sure to climb the racing industry ladder. At nineteen years old he is already a
good driver, steady and loves to race. A carpenter by trade, Michael drives his racecar
with the same force as he pounds nails. He was a crew member for Woody Pitkat in
2002 when Woody won the Late Model Championship. In 2003 Michael raced #64 Dare Stock at
Stafford Speedway and has 3 feature wins to his credit and the "Most Popular
Driver" award. New driver jitters passed fast. In his first win, Michael took the lead early and kept it until the checkered flag. He had never led before and his one fear was overdriving, but he held steady. The #64 Dare crew is great support for Michael. His brother Corey is crew chief and team members are Herb Bennett, Scott Bennett, Brent McCartney and Roco Badecker. The racecar is garaged in Stafford Springs, CT. Michael races once weekly and spends another 6 to 7 hours (or whatever it takes) working on the car. He loves it. Racing is what he always wanted to do. Photographer/Journalist: Sheila Somers |
