| Racing and racecars are both career
and hobby for Charlie Pasteryak. He races his light metallic blue car #5 on the
Featherlite Modified Tour. His career in racing began when, along with his brother Carl,
he was on the pit crew for Fred Dolittle in Connecticut. Both their careers progressed to
owning a racecar in 1975, Carl driving and Charlie being Crew Chief. By 1994, Charlie was
driving in the Ice Breaker at Thompson Speedway. Charlie is married to
Margrette who is employed at Kohls, Lisbon, CT. Their 20-year-old daughter Laurie
attends U Conn where she is an avid lacrosse player. Son Chris graduated from UConn with a
MIS Bachelor Degree and is employed at One Bite Comp. Service in CT. He also is a racecar
driver. The most challenging aspect of racing for Charlie has been adapting from an oval track to road course and most rewarding was when he conquered road course and placed 3rd. His favorite racetrack is Watkins Glenn though he races at New Smyrna, Thompson, Stafford, Waterford, Holland NY, and Naszerath. Charlie runs his racecar about 30 times a season and works with his son who also races about 30 times a season. Why does Charlie race? His puzzled response to that question was what else would I do? It is pretty satisfying to me. We are a group of guys that work for a common goal, we work together to get the end result There is just no other career choice for Charlie. Charlie is most proud of son Chris who races Legend light metallic blue car #5. He feels good about raising his children in the racing industry. The experience has given them good values. |

| Twenty two-year-old Chris Pasteryak raced to 10 wins this season of 2002. Of his 10 wins, one was at Monadnock, one
at Oxford and 8 at Waterford. He is most proud of his win at Oxford, as it was his
greatest challenge. Chris raced twice a week at Waterford for most of this season and won
both Saturday Night point title and overall championship at Waterford. Chris grew up on the race circuit traveling with his Dad at age 2. Charlie Pasteryak, the Legends racecar owner and Crew Chief, says Chris is a good driver, steady and fair. Chris is moving to SK Modified for the 2003 season. |
