| Mike O’Sullivan races
ProStock car #08. He was the 2002 season track champion at Thompson
Speedway and finished 6th in points for the 2003 season. Mike has raced
ProStock for 7 years, Strictly Stock for 1 year and won a championship
while racing Go Karts. His favorite track is Thompson Speedway, though
he has also raced at Stafford, Seekonk, Lee and Riverside Park
Speedways. The O’Sullivan name is well known in the racing industry. His Dad, Tom Sr., began building racecars, with his friends, when he was 16 years old and still does to this day. Thomas Rosati drove for him from 1986 to 1998. Mike was introduced into race driving with Go Karts at age 10. He races the ProStock once a week and works on it another 20 to 25 hours a week. Mike’s most challenging race was the 2002 Pass Series Race. It was 200 laps with pit stops, against all the big guys. He says, “Racing is like a disease, no matter how tired or how mad you get, you just have to do it.” Mike’s family and friends are his race support system. His Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister and Brother-in-Law and his Fiancé are always there for him. Photographer/Journalist: Sheila Somers |
