| The inscription across the hood of Late
Model Racecar #19 reads God Bless America, the colors are patriotic red, white
and blue and the driver is blonde and good-looking 37 year old Kenny Horton. This very
positive racecar driver considers 2003 his true rookie year. Kenny was previously a
sponsor for Frank Ruocco SK #19 and it was a dare by Frank that is responsible for putting
Kenny behind the wheel of a racecar. He has been hooked ever since. Kenny races once a week at Stafford Speedway. Maintenance hours vary depending on race results. His greatest challenging thus far, was his first Late Model 16 win. He was running 2nd when the front runner was taken out by a lapped car. The crew for racecar #19 is superior in attitude and enthusiasm. Kennys crew chief is Eddy Gertch (who himself placed 3rd in Strictly Stock at Waterford Speed Bowl). The team mates are his Dad; Pop Horton a long-time Navy man ; Billy Gertch, Rich Marguadt, Ken Dielly and Gotta Go. Kenny is quite the business man owning and operating several successful enterprises including Real Estate and an Electrical Contractor Co. He races to relax. Racing takes him away from business and he actually has a good time racing. Kenny and wife, Lynn have 3 sons, T.C., Matt and Kyle. They enjoy spending time at their cottage together. The boysss are very active in sports programs supported by Kenny and Lynn. Photographer/Journalist: Sheila Somers |
