| Born and raised in the State of Maine, Andy
Santerre has that everybodys friend aura. He is well spoken, with a
strong rugged confident voice and slow down-east drawl. He respects his fellow drivers and
is a prominent piece-of-the-pie on the track in Busch North Series car #6. Andy began his racing career in Pro Stocks winning 6 open competition races in his home state. He moved to the Busch North Series in 1993. Andy was the 2002 Season Nascar Busch North Series Champion and the Most Popular Driver. It is no wonder. He is a good driver (to say the least) and a nice guy too. Andy has had 14 career wins, 113 career starts, 52 top-five finishes, 80 top-10 finishes and 15 Bud Pole Awards. What was the most challenging race for a seasoned racecar driver like Andy Santerre? It was winning his first Busch Race at Pikes Peak in Colorado. He had just come off an injury from a race at Daytona and raced Dale Earnhart Jr. for the win at the Peak. It was a memorable win for Andy. Andy races once weekly and works an additional 84 hours every week on the car. He has a great crew consisting of Roger Tryan, Bryan MacDonald, Mark Pulchowski, Cari Moore, Kevin Heins, Mike French, John Morris, Jake Jacobs and Les Boardman. The car is garaged in Harrisburg, North Carolina where Andy and his family now live. Racing is his full-time employment and snowmobiling in Maine, is his hobby. Why does this down-east kid race? He enjoys the competition and the people. You can follow Andy Santerres progress at: CastleRacingTeam.com & AndySanterre.com |
